The metal was dull in spots and discolored if you looked closely. click is reminding you what an idiot you were for purchasing this oven.
I tried to contact them regarding one of their other trays in an attempt to get the food closer to the elements, and what a waste of my time. It will drive you nuts the whole time it is toasting, as it clicks every second the dial turns. The crumb tray is difficult to remove, leaving lots of crumbs in the unit because they bounced off during the removal attempt.BTW.customer service is non-existent with this company.
This is by far the worst oven I have ever owned. The trays are so far away from the heating elements that it takes FOREVER for anything to toast/brown.Plus, the entire time it is trying to toast, this annoying click.click.
They are rude, not educated on their own products, and then have the " oh well" attitude to boot.Finally.the oven stopped working last week at almost the exact 1 year mark.I was literally standing right in front of it when the lights just 'went out' and refused to come back on.I was actually relieved.I practically ran to the garbage.I now have purchased an Oster, and could not be happier. If this oven were given to me for free, I would not accept it again, unless to sell on Ebay. For starters, the look in person is not as sleek as pictured.
( should've returned it then)It is quite bulky on your counter, and I have a ton of counter space. The buttons/dials are made of plastic-not metal and are very flimsy. As far as cooking.well, if you like to wait 7-10 minutes to toast your english muffin, then go for it.
Of course I couldn't return it because it was past the one year warranty stage. The reason for my title is for this product's very short life. Before this product, I had a simple (and cheaper) Black & Decker toaster oven that lasted for over 4 years. Also while it did work, the door sometimes wouldn't open all the way, causing a few burns on my wrist and hand. For the price I paid for it, I would expect it to last a lot longer than it did. I bought this product from a local Macy's and it stopped working after one year. It just wouldn't turn on.
Very cheap feeling. Flimsy controls. Laughably expensive for what you get. Very, very bad. Can't toast at all.
They are useless and so is my $100 toaster over. The knob to turn on the oven instead of the timer never worked correctly. I can't reach anyone at the company to help. I bought this toaster oven because it seemed to be built well and had all the basic features I needed. Stay away from this POS. Within the first year, two of the three knobs on the front broke. Wrong. They are made of a cheap plastic material.
Zero. We are pleased with the look of the oven. We discovered this about an hour after the timer went off.So, for the DeLonghi folks; Increase the timer time. After setting the oven temperature and placing the loin in the oven, we set the timer for the full 10 minutes. Its curbside appeal makes this oven look like a high end style oven. I hope someone from DeLonghi reads this, as this review will satisfy everyone (i hope). A burnt loin and no dinner. The problem with this is that the portion of the pizza that is in this "concaved" area will not cook.
How many frozen pizzas take only 10 minutes to cook. Okay, after you read this, there are no other reviews needed. A royal PAIN. So, I told my wife to set the kitchen timer for 1 hour, which we did. 3) Back to the timmer deal again, we ATTEMPTED to cook a pork loin in the oven.
So, you have a 75% cooked pizza and a 25% raw pizza. You guested it. Increase the size of the oven's depth by 2" and you will have what people want. We ended up in the backyard, where the timer went off and we forgot about the loin. This will require you to reset the timer twice. As the loined cooked, we started our family actvities and forgot about the loin. We purchased this oven after hearing nothing but good things about DeLonghi.
The loin needed an hour to cook, so this meant re-setting the timer 10 9 additional times. 2) If you decide to cook a frozen pizza, the back of the interor is "concaved" so that it will hold a 12" pizza. However, its performance does not hold up to the standards you would expect; 1) The timer is only good for 10 minutes. Although this maybe acceptable in most cases, it creates problems in the end.
